We met at Plaza Nueva to start class for the day.

Today we had one of the most fun and interesting assignments.  As we proceeded from plaza to plaza we did quick drawings of the as well as sections of the streets in-between.

This assignment was quick but created some really interesting drawings.  We ended the plaza journey in front of the Catedal de Sevilla.

Catedral de Sevilla

Catedral de Sevilla

This Catedral is the largest in Spain and third largest in Europe.  The tower was designed with a ramp rather than stairs so that the King could ride his horse up to the top of the tower.

From atop the tower all of the city was easily visible.

After the catedral we broke for lunch where at the restaurant they had Duff Beer, yes just like on The Simpsons.

After lunch we continued to walk around the city and then went to the Plaza de Toros (photos).  This is the oldest and one of the biggest bullrings in Spain.

We then made our way towards the pair of bridges built for the Expo ’92.  We ended the class day at the Calatrava Bridge but I took a journey over into the grounds of Expo ’92 and saw what might be some of the most amazing things of the whole trip but for the wrong reason.

The hostel in Sevilla was another Hosteling International which although clean and comfortable was a little bit away and filled with a bunch of school trips.  Later we found out that almost all HI hostels are this way and they are just not as cozy or friendly as the unbranded hostels.
